Great friends !!

Next blog will be in English, especially for the great friends that left us today to go to Vietnam/New Zealand. In advance I'm sorry for all the spelling- and typing mistakes. Hey, I'm pretty good in English but it is not my native language :). Oh yeah and good to know, the story is sometimes a little bit sentimental.

Dear Adam, Frank, Hayden and Tom. It's almost 4 weeks ago that we met. All together on the slow boat from the north of Laos straight into Luang Prabang. Together we went for a game of bowling, kayakking, swimming, cycling, biking, tubing, volleybal and soccer. We sat on shitty busses where the temperature went up to 50 degrees, drove with our bikes about 570 kilometres over mountains and we arranged some first aid when this was necessary. It's an adventure, yeah it really was an adventure. We travelled from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng, from there to Vientiane, Thakhek, Don Det, Siem Reap and it all ended today in Phnom Penh. Sure we did a lot of cultural things. We visited Angor Wat (3 days!!), went there for a sunrise (at least we tried), the killing fields here in Phnom Penh where heart-breaking. We visited temples and saw a lot of beautiful nature. But our biggest talent was to start-up the party. Especially the five nights in Mad Monkey hostel Siem Reap where legendary. If we heard the words 'Free shots at the bar' it would only take us 3 seconds to end up at the bar.

Five weeks ago my journey to Asia started and before I didn't realise that I would meet up with guys like you. You know, it wasn't even my plan to go to Laos, it only happened by accident. Now I'm so glad I did it. I always say that, if you're open for it, you can learn something of everybody. And you won't believe it, but I learned something of all of you.

Tom, you learned me to stay safe when biking around Thakhek. If all the guys where doing crazy things on their bikes, you kept your head cool and you continued cruising in the right mode. Don't do stupid things, just be yourself. Hayden, the real bushman. You learned me that sometimes it is also nice to be a little reckless. Nothing is impossible, just do it and don't think too much about bad things that can happen. Adam, our inspirational leader, always getting us the best deals and making sure that we would end up in the right place (most of the times this was a bar). You learned me that it is possible to lose in a game of beerpong. Sorry for us, it was the last game we played together. At least we won all 100 games before this one. Thanx for being such a great partner. And then German Frank, also known as Frank the Tank. Your mood was always good. I really enjoyed the challenge night we had in Siem Reap, but also the kayakking (thanks for flipping the boat two times), your crazy dancing, listening to the song "Die immer lacht' and you driving a Tuk-Tuk (GREAT !!). Don't be too serious and have fun was the message I got from you.

And today our story ended... At least your story continues and knowing you guys a little now there will probably come more chapters in your great travelling book. And maybe, yeah maybe you also learned something of me. Because never forget (saying this as a 38-year old guy that looks like David Guetta, quit his job and is about to start working in Africa), ITS AN ADVENTURE !!
